GM Tilt housing Rebuild Instructions (1969-1999)

This 8 page step-by-step procedure shows you how to disassemble and rebuild the upper tilt housing on GM saginaw steering columns. These instructions include the removal and replacement of the gears, preload spring, and both inner and outer bearings of the housing. The photos illustrate EXACTLY how to install both bearings properly and reassemble the housing correctly. If the bearings are installed wrong, they will self destruct upon assembly. These steps are critical in repairing damaged columns and/or broken bearings.
We offer the 2 bearing set required here.
