The ignition switch lock cylinder and rack gears push this rod to activate the ignition switch. This design was used on Cadillac Deville, Concours and D'Elegance with a brake-shift interlock system incorporating a release solenoid, cable and sliding release attached to the actuator rod. GM used this design exclsively on 1996-1999 Cadillac models ONLY. These are NOS (New Old Stock) GM parts.
